The grant to Dr. Siddiki is for a 3-day workshop titled “Developing Research Communication Skills and Ethical Considerations”. About 30 early-career researchers will attend the workshop. They will come from about 10 institutions.

The main facilitator for the workshop will be Dr. Haseeb Md. Irfanullah. Dr. Irfanullah works for Practical Action Bangladesh and is an editor of the Bangladesh Journal of Plant Taxonomy. He is an experienced workshop facilitator.

Ms. Wakida is a grants manager at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Recently she completed the AuthorAID online course on writing grant proposals.

The workshop being organized by Ms. Wakida will focus on writing and publishing scientific papers. It will serve researchers from the medical faculties of 2 institutions: her university and Kampala International University–Western Campus.

The main facilitator for this 3-day workshop will be Dr. Achilles Katamba, of Makerere University. Dr. Katamba is an author of many health-related papers in international journals. He also has experience teaching research communication.

AuthorAID received more than 25 applications for this set of workshop grants. The selection committee worked hard to review the applications and make the final choices.

We congratulate the workshop-grant recipients, and we commend all the applicants for their initiative.
