Course announcement: Writing an Effective Introduction Section

By Tabitha Buchner | Sep. 03, 2024

We are excited to announce the launch of our new online short course "Writing an Effective Introduction Section". Starting on September 23, you will have the chance to learn the ins and outs of writing a convincing introduction of a research paper from our experienced facilitator Dr Edmond Sanganyado. You will learn to understand the role of the introduction section, to identify challenges, and to structure your introduction.

Who is this course for? This course is for early career researchers who are struggling with demonstrating the significance of their work,Graphic saying Apply for our Writing an Effective Introduction Section course now! particularly in the introduction of their writing. Particularly if you're new to scientific writing or have had your paper rejected before, this is for you!
When does the course begin? September 23, 2024
When does the course close? October 13, 2024

What does the course include? This course consists of both self-study on Moodle, as well as three live sessions (one onboarding session on September 23, and two learning sessions on September 27 and October 4).

What do I need to do to get a certificate? You would have to participate actively in online discussion forums and the live sessions, complete a pre- and post-course survey, and complete a final reflection activity.

This course only has 100 spaces available and we will generally operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Please do consider if this course would be of value to you, and whether you'd be able to actively participate in order to not occupy a participant space over someone else. We are looking for engaged and motivated learners!
Being part of the first 100 applicants doesn’t automatically confer eligibility to take the course. After our selection of participants, will contact the selected participants before the course begins and give you enrolment instructions.
