Why participate
• To get an overview of Life Sciences future breakthroughs from key leading international scientists
• To debate on Life Sciences impact on society at large with a wide
range of high level stakeholders and contribute to propose innovative
solutions
• To meet, in fireside chat type session, several
BioVision speakers: including Nobel Prize laureates, renowned
professors and researchers, CEOs of pharmaceutical groups, policy
makers, NGO leaders…
• To exchange and network with other
Fellows and peers, coming from around the world and sharing the same
interest for Life Sciences.
Programme
NEW: For the first time, BioVision.Nxt alumni will contribute directly to BioVision.Nxt programme.
NEW: Workshops will be more interactive and ask for fellows' active participation
Saturday 26th March:
specific activities and workshops are organized to prepare the Fellows
for their active participation to the Forum. Special social events
ensure that Fellows get to know each other.
Sunday 27th March to Tuesday 29th March: the class of 2011 will take part in BioVision Forum and all the associated events.
The Fellows will have the unique opportunity to meet and discuss with
some of BioVision speakers, including Nobel laureates, renowned
scientists, CEOs, policy makers and NGOs leaders. These sessions called
“Coffee with…” will take place in the BioVision .Nxt lounge, centrally
located in the conference center.
Candidates for BioVision.Nxt programme are selected based on the following criteria:
• He/she is under 35 years of age at the time of application
• He/she has is PhD student, a doctoral candidate or a Postdoc in the following fields related to Life Sciences: Biology, Healthcare, Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Environment.
• He/she has a recognized record of academic achievement, proven by fellowships, awards or prizes
• He/she has demonstrated a commitment to serve society at large through exceptional contributions and extra-curricular activities, and has a global perspective.
Candidates with the following skills will be encouraged:
• Strong interest in a multidisciplinary approach to Life Sciences and dialogue between Science/ Society
• Communication skills, capacity to network and disseminate information.
We do encourage women to apply.
Applications will be accepted from eligible candidates beginning May 19th, 2010.

- include the following documents:
• passport size photograph as a separate JPEG file
• a copy of your passport. Only the page with personal details is required
• a curriculum vitae and list of publications. Do not send papers
• university degrees certificates
• one reference letter from a senior scientist familiar with the applicant’s work
• a letter of motivation explaining your interest for the BioVision.Nxt programmeSend the application form dully completed and all the above mentioned documents to:

All applications should be submitted until September 30th 2010.
The selected candidates will be announced in November 2010.
BioVision will support:
- all direct food and accommodation costs (including hotel for 5 nights from Friday March 25th to Tuesday 29th 2011)
- free access to all BioVision related events
Transportation costs will be partially covered depending on your departure country.
Please note that for scientists coming from developing countries, support travel costs is available through TWAS ans its five Regional Offices.
Each regional office will support the travel costs for 10 candidates from each region.
We do encourage candidates from developing countries to apply.
