DFID funded scoping study seeking to establish current capacity and needs for development in the area of Communicating Research for Utilisation

The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete and can be saved at any point and resumed later. The deadline for submission is 12 April. http://snaponline.snapsurveys.com/surveylogin.asp?k=126694092293 <http://snaponline.snapsurveys.com/surveylogin.asp?k=126694092293>

BACKGROUND

DFID proposes to support the more systematic communication of Global Public Goods research by building the capacity and skills of researchers, and the institutions in which they work; and by strengthening the enabling environment for research to be taken up and used in development policy and practice. They have funded this scoping study to establish the current levels of capacity to create and use development research evidence and the demand for capacity-building, with a view to developing a research programme in this area. The study will be undertaken in sub-Saharan Africa in consultation with universities, institutions including governments and NGOs, agencies and development research programmes, at regional and national levels.

The Communicating Research for Utilisation (CRU) scoping study is a collaboration between The Association of Commonwealth Universities (Dr John Kirkland), The Centre for Research into Science and Technology at the University of Stellenbosch (Professor Johann Mouton) and Organisation Systems Design (Diana Coates).

THE SURVEY

The online survey is primarily aimed at researchers and asks about your research, how this is communicated and how this process could be supported further. A complementary survey is currently being completed by central offices involved in research communication. Please answer as fully as possible.

Please access the survey here http://snaponline.snapsurveys.com/surveylogin.asp?k=126694092293 <http://snaponline.snapsurveys.com/surveylogin.asp?k=126694092293>

Should you have any queries about the survey, or if you would like to complete it in another format (for example a word document) please do not hesitate to contact me on j.stackhouse@acu.ac.uk. The results of the survey will inform the development of a research programme in this area and the report will be published in April on the project website, www.cruonline.net <http://www.cruonline.net/> . Further information can be found on that website and also on the ACU's website www.acu.ac.uk/member_services/professional_networks/research_management/communicating_research_for_utilisationmanagement/communicating_research_for_utilisation

With thanks in advance for your participation
