Resource of the Week #183: Presentations from the 2014 CSE Meeting

By Barbara Gastel | Oct. 12, 2014

Hello again. Many presentations from this year’s Council of Science Editors (CSE) annual meeting have now become openly available. Some of these presentations may interest both authors and editors.

To access presentations from the meeting, scroll down the list of numbered sessions. Information after each session title includes a list of speakers and a session description. If presentations from the session are available, links to them then appear below.

Two sessions that might interest many AuthorAID members are

  • Session 20: “Educational Strategies in Publication Ethics for Asian Authors”
  • Session 22: “Editorial and Publication Processes in Developing and Newly Industrialized Nations”

Session 16: “Editorial Boards: Nuts and Bolts” might interest AuthorAID members who are journal editors. Session 27: “Behind the Scenes with Style Guides” might interest those who are manuscript editors.

Those who are editors and value mentoring others might like the presentations from Session 07: “Editorial Internships: Opportunities for All to Benefit”. All three speakers at this session provided presentations.

If a speaker’s presentation is not posted but you want to see it, I suggest contacting the speaker. The speaker might be able to provide a copy or otherwise share information. And you might be making a helpful new professional contact.

Until next post—

Barbara
