Hello again. This week I’m featuring 2 resources recommended by AuthorAID mentee Dr. Jibril Handuleh, who is from Somalia. Dr. Handuleh emailed me to suggest these resources.
The first resource is Supercourse: Epidemiology, the Internet and Global Health. It describes itself as “a repository of lectures on global health and prevention designed to improve the teaching of prevention".
According to its website, Supercourse includes 5,705 lectures in 31 languages. One can search for lectures by topic, author, keyword, or year. Some topics with many lectures are biostatistics, disasters, environment, epidemiology, infectious diseases, public health, and research methods. Supercourse also has links to other resources.
The second resource, which is related, is the Research Methods Library of Alexandria. This resource provides links to lectures and other materials on research methods and associated topics.
Several lectures in the research methods library are available in English and Spanish. Some also are available in other languages. Among the topics with lectures in more than 1 language are bias and confounding, sampling techniques, and data presentation.
Thank you, Dr. Handuleh, for mentioning these resources. Other readers: Do you have resources to suggest? If so, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Until the next post—
