Two Receive AuthorAID Workshop Grants (Part 2 of 2)

By Barbara Gastel | April 21, 2014

In our previous post, we announced the new recipients of AuthorAID workshop grants: Dr. David Oscar Yawson, from Ghana, and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Rathore, from Pakistan. We also introduced Dr. Yawson and his workshop plans. The current post regards Dr. Rathore and his plans.

Dr. Rathore is an assistant professor at Lahore Medical College. His areas of specialty are medical sciences, rehabilitation medicine, and medical education. He will give a series of workshops titled “Making Research and Medical Writing Easy for Beginners”.

This series will consist of five 1-day workshops, each at a different institution. Among topics to be included in each are ethical aspects, literature reviewing, components of original research articles, manuscript submission, the peer review process, and poster and oral presentations.

The workshops will be for medical attendees, including students, residents, more senior doctors, and faculty members. In all, the series is to reach about 100 participants.

As usual, competition for the workshop grants was strong. We congratulate the grant recipients and commend all who took the initiative to apply.
