French Translations of the Slides: Merci!

By Barbara Gastel | April 26, 2009

Greetings again. If you’ve looked at the AuthorAID Resource Library very recently, perhaps you’ve noticed that it now contains PowerPoint presentations in French. These are translations of presentations given at the AuthorAID workshop in Rwanda in February. We hope they’ll be helpful to our French-speaking colleagues.

We’re very grateful to Georges Rwamasirabo, from the English Department at the University of Rwanda, for translating the slides. Or, as our acknowledgments in the translated presentations state: “Remerciements particuliers au Dr. Georges Rwamasirabo, du Département d’anglais de la Faculté des lettres, des médias et des sciences sociales de l’Université nationale du Rwanda, pour la traduction des diapositives.”

The AuthorAID Resource Library now includes presentations translated into French and Spanish, as well as many presentations and other materials in English. Some AuthorAID presentations are now being translated into Chinese and Arabic. We look forward to receiving and posting the translations.

We want the AuthorAID Resource Library to help authors in many countries. Therefore, we have some questions:

  • Would you like some AuthorAID materials to be translated into other languages? If so, which materials and what languages?
  • Could you help translate some AuthorAID materials? Can you suggest others to do so?
  • Are there materials in your native language that you suggest posting?

Please tell me, either by posting a comment or by contacting me through the AuthorAID website.

Meanwhile, merci and gracias for the current translations. I hope to say xie xie, shukran, and thank you in other languages soon.
