Biography:
I am Dr. Ajaya Bhattarai, Professor and Head of Department of Chemistry, M.M.A.M.C. at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. I have received my M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry from Tribhuvan University in 1998 and a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry from North Bengal University, India in 2010. I have also received the "TWAS Young Scientist Award" in 2008 for Chemistry. I have visited the University of Warsaw, Poland for Post-doctorate research in Nanomaterials as well as Surface Chemistry in 2013 under Erasmus Mundus post-doctoral fellowship of European Commission for nine months. I was in Boston College, the USA for Post-doctorate research in “Theoretical studies of Glass-Forming liquids” under Fulbright fellowship for the year 2018-2019. I have published more than 100 articles in reputed journals. My current research interest is in Polymer Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, and Nanomaterials as well as theoretical studies of Glass-Forming liquids. During my stay in the USA, I have attended several workshops, seminars, meetings, conferences. But I have a very nice experience at the seminar in Minnesota. The title of the seminar was the Fulbright Enrichment Seminar: American Security: Economic and Food Solutions (24-27th of April 2019) was organized by Global Minnesota and the U.S. Department of State. I have noticed the very good hospitality from the organizer. The organizer arranged one double bedroom for me in the nice hotel with another friend so that we got the chance to know each other. As I am vegan but found comfortable during the seminar because the organizer provided nuts, fruits, juice, and plenty of vegetables. We visited American Mall, University as well as local people home for dinner. This visit helped me to know the way of living American people. The huge gathering from different countries of Fulbright made us closer to each other in the seminar like one big family. The sharing of Fulbright feelings was heart touching. Indeed, the topics covered in the seminar were very useful regarding Food solutions and Economics is given by the experienced experts of the relevant fields. I was very much impressed by the president of Global Minnesota and all the members who directly or indirectly involved to make the success of our program. Right now, we are facing the problem of the Coronavirus and I am staying in the Rajyoga Meditation Centre Kathmandu, Nepal. I am using my time with meditation, reading spiritual books, and spiritual discourses so that I have created positive minds and helping my students in research articles and giving online classes.
